We are looking for a computer-savvy and proactive IT Support Officer to provide technical support and ensure the smooth operation of all computer systems and office IT equipment. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of computer hardware, software, networking, and be able to troubleshoot printing and printer-related issues efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain desktop and laptop computers.
- Provide technical support to staff for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve printer, printing, and scanning problems promptly.
- Set up and maintain office printers, scanners, and other peripheral devices.
- Monitor system performance and ensure all office computers function efficiently.
- Install and update operating systems, antivirus software, and business applications.
- Manage user accounts, passwords, and access permissions where required.
- Perform routine system checks, backups, and preventive maintenance.
- Maintain records of IT assets, repairs, and support requests.
- Assist in setting up IT equipment for meetings, training sessions, and presentations.
- Escalate complex technical issues to external vendors or senior IT personnel when necessary.
Requirements
- HND, B.Sc., or relevant qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in IT support or computer maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to troubleshoot printers, scanners, network connectivity, and general computer issues.
- Basic understanding of LAN/Wi-Fi networking.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and respond quickly to technical issues.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with printer installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of system backup and data protection practices.
- Familiarity with remote support tools.
- Strong attention to detail and customer-service orientation.
