JOB SUMMARY
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a member of the executive management team responsible for the overall financial strategy, health, and governance of asset management company.
The CFO leads financial planning and analysis, regulatory and statutory reporting, treasury and capital management, tax, budgeting, and internal financial controls, ensuring the firm's financial operations comply with all regulatory requirements applicable to an asset management business (including SEC and other relevant regulatory guidelines) and support sound investment and business decision-making.
As a Chartered Accountant with deep industry experience, the CFO also acts as a key advisor to the CEO and Board on capital allocation, fund/seed capital structuring, profitability, and long-term financial sustainability.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop and execute the company's overall financial strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives, growth plans, and regulatory obligations.
• Oversee all financial operations, including financial planning & analysis (FP&A), budgeting, forecasting, treasury, tax planning and compliance, and management/statutory reporting.
• Ensure timely, accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with IFRS and applicable regulatory reporting standards, and coordinate annual external audits.
• Maintain robust internal controls and financial governance frameworks to safeguard company and client assets, mitigate financial risk, and prevent fraud.
• Ensure full compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements, including SEC rules and guidelines for asset/fund management companies, tax authorities, and other statutory bodies.
• Manage the company's capital structure, liquidity, and cash flow, including treasury operations, banking relationships, and funding/seed capital arrangements.
• Partner with the Chief Investment Officer and investment teams on fund structuring, fee calculations, expense ratios, and the financial viability of new investment products.
• Lead the annual budgeting process and provide ongoing variance analysis, cost management, and profitability insights to the CEO and Board.
• Present financial performance, forecasts, and strategic financial recommendations to the Board of Directors, Investment Committee, and other governance bodies.
• Oversee tax planning, compliance, and optimization strategies in line with applicable tax laws and regulations.
• Manage relationships with external auditors, regulators, tax authorities, banks, and other financial stakeholders.
• Build, lead, and develop a high-performing finance team, embedding a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Drive process automation and improvements in financial systems, reporting tools, and controls to enhance efficiency and data integrity.
• Support due diligence, valuations, and financial input for new business initiatives, partnerships, or corporate transactions.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Must be a Chartered Accountant — ICAN, ACCA, ACA, CPA, or an equivalent recognized professional accounting qualification is mandatory.
• A minimum of 12 years of progressive finance/accounting experience, with substantial exposure to the asset management, investment management, banking, or broader financial services industry.
• Proven experience in a senior finance leadership role (Finance Manager, Head of Finance, or CFO) with responsibility for financial strategy, statutory reporting, and regulatory compliance.
• Strong working knowledge of IFRS, fund/portfolio accounting, and regulatory reporting requirements for asset management companies (including SEC rules).
• Demonstrated experience managing external audits, tax matters, treasury functions, and capital/liquidity management.

• Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience building and developing finance teams.
• Excellent knowledge of financial systems, ERP platforms, and reporting/analytics tools

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage confidently with the Board, regulators, auditors, and external stakeholders.
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, regulated financial services environment and manage competing priorities.

WORKING CONDITIONS
This role is based at client's office, with standard office hours; extended hours may be required around reporting deadlines, audits, Board meetings, and regulatory filing periods.
Some travel may be required.
